One month and 3 weeks into the Field | Elder Padilla, June 2026 - 2028

This was such a good week, and we got some really good quality pictures! Thank you so much to Brother Kyle and Sister Ara for working with us and taking pictures for us!

We had dinner at one of our member's houses last night and it was amazing! They served spicy adobo and it was so yummy! 😋

Super flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. We were completely full and so happy. They were really kind to us, and before we left, they even gave me a big pencil as a gift. It really made my whole day ✏️


There are days when everything feels really low, but I've realized it's often just building up for the best high ever. The whole morning we were getting punted everywhere we went, but we didn't give up ✨️


We just kept going and kept working. Then in the afternoon, everything changed. We started having one meaningful find after another, back-to-back, and it made all the hard work in the morning so worth it. It was such a great reminder that the Lord is always preparing something good after the hard parts!


Exchanges with Elder Sligting² 🦉

We're running it back!! and I learned so much from Elder Sligting. He's really good at making anything and any place into a gospel lesson it's amazing to watch. 


We saw a Lola who was gambling with her friends and neighbours, so we went up and talked to them. We ended up having such a great conversation, and by the end, so many of them wanted to learn more that we didn't even have enough Books of Mormon to give to everyone! 

I never knew that David and Goliath would make such a great team! Elder Sligting and I might have a big height difference, but we work really well together.  

I also learned this week that when we are constantly finding, the Lord truly provides. When we never stop talking to people and looking for opportunities, we always end up finding those who are prepared. It was such a great reminder that finding never stops and that’s where the real miracles happen. 💫

We also did a ton of service this week, One of my favorite moments was when we saw an inactive member outside painting his house by himself. We walked up to him and just started talking. He told us he’s been so busy lately that he hasn’t been able to come to church, but you could tell he still has that desire. 💗


So we asked him, 'Can we help you paint? and he said sure. While I was up there painting with him, Elder Bas and Elder Suya were down below just talking to him and building a real relationship. It wasn’t just about painting the house it was about letting him know we care and that we’re here for him. 🖌


It really reminded me that sometimes service is the best way to bring people back. We helped paint his house, but he helped us feel the Spirit too. 

I've been listening to a lot of General Conference talks One quote that really stuck with me from Thomas S. Monson was, "Often we assume that they must know how much we love them. But we should never assume; we should let them know. Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved." 
I felt that so much this week. Whether it was the Lola we met or the inactive brother painting his house, it would have been easy to just see the situation, but when we chose to love the person first, that's where we found joy. The miracles really come when we put people over problems 


My invitation for you this week is to show someone you love them don't just assume they know actually show that love you have for them in acts of service or anyway you can express! I promise that as you do this, you will find more joy in your own journey. 

The Lord will help you see people the way He sees them, and your relationships will become stronger and filled with more love.

The Doors Will Soon Be Open | An Invitation to the 2027 Salt Lake Temple Celebration!

It was truly a tender, sacred, answered prayer that just before we turned toward home, the barriers were removed, and we were invited near. For the first time, we were able to walk right up to the Salt Lake Temple to touch the sacred stone walls, to rest our hands upon the holy doors, to stand in the very shadow of the House of the Lord in a way we had not been able to before.    As our hands rested upon the temple doors, we marveled at the exquisite, historic doorknob and lock plate, a masterpiece of craftsmanship and symbolism!   This stone monument marks the U.S. Meridian Base of 1869, the official starting point for the Salt Lake Meridian, the survey reference line that defines the addressing system for the entire state of Utah!  It sits on Temple Square grounds, just north of the Salt Lake Temple, precisely at 40°46′13″ N, 111°54′00″ W. Participating in the Work of Salvation and Exaltation

The Philippines Area Special Devotional yesterday with President Steven J. Lund, Sister Rebecca Craven, President Taniela Wakolo, and President Steven R. Bangerter was another experience reminding us that the Spirit can be felt over technology. We went home with a greater faith and determination to help lay a foundation of this GREAT WORK. After our sacrament service at home, we discussed as a family ways we can incorporate this gathering of Israel in our everyday life.  In the afternoon, our elder children, Cerah and Ammon were excited to go out with us to assist in God's work. The Eagle Gate | Strength, Vision, & Pioneer Heritage

First Few Days in the Missionary Training Center

Maayong adlaw! Our daughter, Sister Cerah Padilla, has been at the Philippines MTC for just 5 days and look how much she has already seen, learned, and felt! She shared that they received their phones and key cards right away!  "It still feels crazy that missionaries today use high‑tech phones, but we use them to study, learn, and teach the gospel! In a changing world, the gospel keeps finding new ways to spread."  -Sister Padilla She received all five vaccine shots and yes, the soreness was real! But she wrote: "I believe healing in the MTC is faster because of the prayers of others for missionaries to stay healthy. I have felt the strength from your prayers."  She met her two companions and roommates, Sister Pascual and Sister Orcuse. "We relate on so many things and help each other grow.   Maayong buntag sa inyong tanan! What a week it has been! Even though he got sick for a little while, Elder Padilla shared that the Lord reminded him that His work does not stop. And neither does he! He kept moving forward, creating miracles, and helping others come closer to Christ . He has seen so many blessings this week. Hearts progressing, and the Spirit working in beautiful ways.    They gathered for a wonderful Family Home Evening combining interested friends and ward members! The support was so great that people didn’t even fit inside the house. He said some had to stay outside! Everyone enjoyed one another’s company, played a fun game together, and truly felt the Spirit and the warm love of the ward family.     This week brought a precious milestone!
