Lunch at Adams, Ilocos Norte


We believe in stopping work and eating lunch. So for our lunch today, we tried something new! This 'Ensaladang Pako' or Fiddlehead Fern Salad has a crunchy bite to it with mini tomatoes. The sweet-vinegar dressing gives it a holistic flavor.

Definitely not your ordinary salad! Have you ever thought that ferns can be eaten? No? Well, here in Adams, Ilocos Norte, this is a common salad dish served in local restaurants. So the next time you plan to visit here, look for Ensaladang Pako. 

Fun Fact:
The Municipality of Adams is a 5th class municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 2,189 people. Adams is composed of only one barangay: Adams Proper, the largest barangay by land area in the country.

This was such a good week, and we got some really good quality pictures! Thank you so much to Brother Kyle and Sister Ara for working with us and taking pictures for us! Our Love Story

Let me share how our paths crossed, how our relationship blossomed over the years, and how our commitment to each other and our shared faith in   The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints   have been foundational in our journey together. Anatolin and I were both raised by our goodly parents. I was born in San Jose Del Monte Bulacan on February 21, 1982. When I was two years old, our family moved to Bauang, La Union, where we met Sister Lumacad and Sister Mcnutt, missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Our family accepted the gospel on June 10, 1984 and was sealed at the Manila Philippines Temple on 1 February  1986, two years after it's dedication.  Anatolin was born in San Jose Agoo, La Union on June 25, 1982. The Well That Sparked Alberta's Oil Boom | Our Heritage Park Visit

Our family visited Heritage Park and stepped back in time to discover the story that shaped Alberta.    It all began in 1911, when an amateur geologist named William Stewart Herron noticed something remarkable: oil seeping through the ground in the foothills south of Calgary. Little did he know, that small discovery would launch Alberta’s entire oil industry. Herron brought in Archibald Wayne Dingman to oversee the work, and together they founded Calgary Petroleum Products. On May 14, 1914, their No. 1 Well, now known affectionately as the Dingman Well, struck oil at 2,700 feet.  What made it extraordinary? The gasoline was so pure it could power a car without any refining.
