Elder Ammon Jarom Padilla, Philippines Cebu East Mission (June 2026- June 2028)

 
Maayong buntag sa inyong tanan! What a week it has been! Even though he got sick for a little while, Elder Padilla shared that the Lord reminded him that His work does not stop. And neither does he! He kept moving forward, creating miracles, and helping others come closer to Christ. He has seen so many blessings this week. Hearts progressing, and the Spirit working in beautiful ways. 
 

They gathered for a wonderful Family Home Evening combining interested friends and ward members! The support was so great that people didn’t even fit inside the house. He said some had to stay outside! Everyone enjoyed one another’s company, played a fun game together, and truly felt the Spirit and the warm love of the ward family.
 
 
This week brought a precious milestone! Nanay signed the papers for her daughter’s baptism, and you could truly see the joy and excitement in both of their faces! 


And then came a memorable story of faith. They had filled and cleaned the font, but a power outage struck overnight. Returning the next day, the font was full, only to mysteriously drain completely just one hour before the service! They prepared for every possibility.  Firetruck water, even a river baptism, but the tide was too high. 

The Lord guided them to another chapel instead. His ways are truly mysterious… but His work always happens!

"Rachelle-Ann Pongasi was baptized! I had the sacred privilege of being her baptizer. It was such a beautiful day. The Spirit was so strong! We are so grateful and so happy for her."


He said he was also so blessed to meet Elder Alvaro and his brother. Two wonderful missionaries who bring joy and light everywhere they go! And they taught him something amazing: sign language!

 
"Because of them, I now have a new goal: to study sign language every night so I can communicate with them. They remind me that everyone is a child of God, and the gospel truly is for all.


Brother and Sister Jankowski have been such a true blessing, standing by him every day throughout his Cebuano language study with patience, kindness, and a constant readiness to help.

Last Monday, they were blessed to gather for Family Home Evening at the home of Bishop Jeric Garcia and his family! 


Elder Padilla is blessed to labor with his beloved companion, Elder Mamon, and a wonderful team of active ward missionaries: Kyle James Academia, Eunice Kyle Academia, and Ara Jane Hugo. They are dedicated, enthusiastic, and full of faith. 

What a beautiful thing to see missionaries and ward members united in one purpose: to invite all to come unto Christ.

This was such a good week, and we got some really good quality pictures! Thank you so much to Brother Kyle and Sister Ara for working with us and taking pictures for us! The Doors Will Soon Be Open | An Invitation to the 2027 Salt Lake Temple Celebration!

It was truly a tender, sacred, answered prayer that just before we turned toward home, the barriers were removed, and we were invited near. For the first time, we were able to walk right up to the Salt Lake Temple to touch the sacred stone walls, to rest our hands upon the holy doors, to stand in the very shadow of the House of the Lord in a way we had not been able to before.    As our hands rested upon the temple doors, we marveled at the exquisite, historic doorknob and lock plate, a masterpiece of craftsmanship and symbolism! Participating in the Work of Salvation and Exaltation

The Philippines Area Special Devotional yesterday with President Steven J. Lund, Sister Rebecca Craven, President Taniela Wakolo, and President Steven R. Bangerter was another experience reminding us that the Spirit can be felt over technology. We went home with a greater faith and determination to help lay a foundation of this GREAT WORK. After our sacrament service at home, we discussed as a family ways we can incorporate this gathering of Israel in our everyday life.  In the afternoon, our elder children, Cerah and Ammon were excited to go out with us to assist in God's work. "Believe in Him" | A Masterpiece of Light and Testimony

Standing before this breathtaking work of art, we felt something profound. A peace, a warmth, and a powerful witness of the Savior’s love that seemed to glow from within every panel.   This stunning, seven-panel masterpiece at the St. George Utah Temple Visitor's Center is titled " Believe in Him ", created by the gifted artist Tom Holdman , together with his wife Gayle and the Roots of Humanity Foundation. It stretches an incredible 32 feet wide, curving gently like a great, glowing storybook.
