Drawing Closer to the House of the Lord

In the ever-expanding landscape of temples around the world, the message is clear: temple blessings are not just reserved for a select few, but are meant to be accessible to all who seek them. As the Lord, through His living prophet, continues to bring more houses of the Lord closer in more places, the opportunity to partake of temple blessings becomes increasingly available to everyone.

Temple blessings are not merely symbolic in nature; they hold profound significance in our eternity. Through sacred ordinances and covenants made in the temple, we establish a direct connection to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. These ordinances provide us with an eternal perspective on mortality, reminding us of our divine heritage and purpose on this earth.

One of the most beautiful aspects of temple worship is the opportunity to perform sacred ordinances on behalf of our ancestors. As we participate in this sacred work, we follow the pattern of saviors on Mount Zion, extending blessings and opportunities for exaltation to those who came before us. Each name we offer in the temple represents a beloved family member, and through our service, we help unite generations in a bond of love and eternal progression.

As temples become more accessible in various locations, we are called to make a temple sacrifice of our own: to seek holiness in the house of the Lord more frequently. While many of us have spent years saving, planning, and sacrificing to attend the temple, the invitation now is to come even more often, as circumstances permit. Regular temple worship and service have the power to bless, protect, and inspire not only ourselves but also our families—both those we have now and those we will have in the future.

So, let us heed the call to embrace temple blessings wholeheartedly. Let us prioritize regular temple attendance and service, knowing that in doing so, we draw closer to God, strengthen our families, and participate in the sacred work of salvation for both the living and the dead. As temples continue to dot the earth, may we seize the opportunity to partake of their sacred blessings and find joy in the eternal perspective they offer.
