He Carried It All For Us

Image
Standing before this sign, reading these words in the quiet of the garden, our hearts felt full. It is the most sacred, tender truth in all the world: Jesus Christ carried the cross for you. For me. For all of us .   Innocent, Yet Willing   Though He was found without fault, though He had done nothing wrong, the crowd cried out. And He did not fight back. He did not complain. He simply took up His cross and walked forward.   He carried it weary, bruised, and bleeding, step by heavy step. And as He walked, people followed and wept. They saw what the world often misses: the innocent One suffering for the guilty; the pure One bearing the stain of us all. He did it because He loves us. He did it because He chose to.   " Father, Forgive Them"   Even as they nailed Him there, His first thought was not of pain. It was of mercy. "Father, forgive them," He said. He asked forgiveness for the very ones who hurt Him. That is the love that holds ...

Rise Up and Speak | The Legacy of Eliza R. Snow

Image
There are moments when history feels less like something we read and more like something we meet. Standing before the exhibition sign at the Church History Library and then holding the book in my hands, I felt exactly that Eliza R. Snow is not just a name from the past. She is a voice, a witness, and an example that still speaks to us today.  What a precious gift this new volume is: Rise Up and Speak : Selected Discourses of Eliza R. Snow . For so long, we have known her as the beloved second General President of the Relief Society, as the poet whose words shaped our hymns, and as a woman of quiet, unshakable strength. Now, in these pages, we hear her own voice, her sermons, her teachings, and her heart, shared directly with us.   "Rise up and speak ". These words are not just a title. They are her invitation to every woman, in every generation: stand , testify , lift your voice, and let your light shine .   Who She Was And What She G...

A Happy Family Is But An Earlier Heaven

The Well That Sparked Alberta's Oil Boom | Our Heritage Park Visit

Image
Our family visited Heritage Park and stepped back in time to discover the story that shaped Alberta.    It all began in 1911, when an amateur geologist named William Stewart Herron noticed something remarkable: oil seeping through the ground in the foothills south of Calgary. Little did he know, that small discovery would launch Alberta’s entire oil industry. Herron brought in Archibald Wayne Dingman to oversee the work, and together they founded Calgary Petroleum Products. On May 14, 1914, their No. 1 Well, now known affectionately as the Dingman Well, struck oil at 2,700 feet.  What made it extraordinary? The gasoline was so pure it could power a car without any refining. That gusher sparked excitement across the region and started Alberta’s very first oil boom.   At Heritage Park, we saw the replica of the Dingman cable-tool rig. A story of preservation in itself. The first accurate replica was built in 1965, using h...

More Than Just a Dad | What It Really Takes

Image
Okay, let's get real. Anyone can have kids, right? But being a dad? That's a whole different ballgame. As a mom, I've seen firsthand what it takes to be a great father, and let me tell you, it's so much more than just biology. It's Not Just About the Genes   Making a baby is just the starting point. Being a father starts when you step up and take responsibility.  It's about:   - Being Present : Like, really present. Not just physically, but emotionally too. Putting down the phone, turning off the game, and actually engaging with your kids. It's about being there for the good, the bad, and the messy. - Keeping Them Safe : Making sure they're okay, both in their bodies and in their heads. Teaching them how to navigate the world and protecting them when they can't. It's about being their rock. - Providing the Basics : Food, clothes, a roof over their heads. But also, giving them opportunities to learn and grow. It...

A Beacon of Hope for Child-Survivors

Image
In the heart of the Philippines, amidst the challenges and shadows of abuse and exploitation, stands Parola Santuwaryo (Lighthouse Sanctuary) - a sanctuary of light and healing for children who have survived the horrors of sexual abuse and sex trafficking. This blog post sheds light on the noble mission of Parola Santuwaryo, an organization dedicated to providing a safe haven and professional rehabilitation services to these vulnerable children, empowering them to reintegrate successfully into family life and society.   The Urgent Need for Residential Shelters   In a country where the dark realities of abuse and trafficking cast a long shadow over the lives of children, the need for residential shelters is more pressing than ever. Parola Santuwaryo has emerged as a beacon of hope, filling a crucial gap as the only shelter of its kind in all of Region 1, offering refuge to up to 20 children in need. Another shelter will open up in Tarlac City very soon....

One month and 3 weeks into the Field | Elder Padilla, June 2026 - 2028

Image
This was such a good week, and we got some really good quality pictures! Thank you so much to Brother Kyle and Sister Ara for working with us and taking pictures for us! We had dinner at one of our member's houses last night and it was amazing! They served spicy adobo and it was so yummy! 😋 Super flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. We were completely full and so happy. They were really kind to us, and before we left, they even gave me a big pencil as a gift. It really made my whole day ✏️ There are days when everything feels really low, but I've realized it's often just building up for the best high ever. The whole morning we were getting punted everywhere we went, but we didn't give up ✨️ We just kept going and kept working. Then in the afternoon, everything changed. We started having one meaningful find after another, back-to-back, and it made all the hard work in the morning so worth it. It was such a great reminder that the Lord ...

Our Love Story

Image
Let me share how our paths crossed, how our relationship blossomed over the years, and how our commitment to each other and our shared faith in   The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints   have been foundational in our journey together. Anatolin and I were both raised by our goodly parents. I was born in San Jose Del Monte Bulacan on February 21, 1982. When I was two years old, our family moved to Bauang, La Union, where we met Sister Lumacad and Sister Mcnutt, missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Our family accepted the gospel on June 10, 1984 and was sealed at the Manila Philippines Temple on 1 February  1986, two years after it's dedication.  Anatolin was born in San Jose Agoo, La Union on June 25, 1982. Their whole family was baptized in the church in May 1988.  Anatolin said he first saw me when we were twelve years old and at a Regional Conference where an apostle of the Lord, Elder Quentin L. Cook, presided ov...

Why My Husband Leads Our Home With Joy | The Secret Revealed

Image
Those who know our family see it clearly that my husband Anatolin takes the lead in our home. Managing the household tasks and gently preferring that I simply help and work beside him. He’s the captain, and I’m so happy to be his co-pilot. And honestly? Our sweet, endless conversations while folding laundry, shopping, or preparing meals together are the most precious moments of all.    While he gives his strength to the work of our home, I pour my heart into walking closely with our children. Nurturing their growth, their hearts, and their faith.   Visitors, especially fellow moms,  watch Anatolin moving so willingly and lovingly around the house, and they can’t help but say, "Sana all".  And truly, I wonder myself: what did I do to deserve such a peculiar husband? I say peculiar because I know so many women carry heavy hearts and unmet hopes as if dissatisfaction has become the norm. Yet here he is, his life’s mission is to serve me and our c...
