Stronger Together

Millions of people’s lives have been put on hold because of this COVID-19 pandemic the world is currently battling. It is challenging to stay positive and level-headed especially when we have children to protect. The effects it’s having on our mental well-being is undeniable. However, my husband, Anatolin and I do our best to stay calm and keep going. In this time of uncertainty and fear, we teach our children that we are stronger together.
Though this virus outbreak is an unprecedented phenomenon for us all, our family had a strong impression that what’s in front of us may be serving us in valuable ways we don’t even understand right now.
While it is true that the situation is constantly evolving and we are presented with a new set of challenges every day, it also is impacting our communities in so many positive ways.
While stargazing the other night, Anatolin shared how grateful he was of our choice to be together 24/7 since the beginning of our marriage. He said families might have realized the importance of the gift of time during this lockdown. And because a lot of our routines are interrupted, we now have an opportunity to reflect on things and reconsider what we do, how we do it and why we do it. In other words, revisiting our life's mission, goals, purpose, and direction.
Heeding to another inspiration we had years ago as a couple to homeschool our children, we were able to prepare our children to this Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine. Despite the horrible news on this pandemic they hear and see online, they can't feel it's depth as they got used to staying home.
From all that's happening, we learned that sometimes, we have to have a break from what we are doing in order to be refreshed and rise again as a stronger, smarter version of ourselves, much stronger and happier than we ever would have been otherwise.
Staying strong in the midst of hardship requires us to manage our thoughts, feelings, and behavior. We don't exactly know if this gets worse before it gets better but we absolutely believe that we can overcome this together as long as we remain confident, resilient, and socially responsible.
