My Message to New Students at BYU Pathway Worldwide
I just can't believe that my husband Anatolin and I just finished the Fall 2019 Semester at PathwayConnect Worldwide with an "A".
Personally, I enrolled in the BYU PathwayConnect Program because I want to become a more delightful wife to my husband and an exemplary mother to my four home-schooled children who grow up way too fast.
A delightful woman should be developing the sacred qualities that God has given His daughters to excel as a wife and mother: patience, kindliness, a love of children, and a desire to care for them. She should be acquiring a good education to keep with the demands of motherhood. President Russel M. Nelson taught, “We need women who are organized and women who can organize. We need women with executive ability who can plan and direct and administer; women who can teach, women who can speak out. ... We need women with the gift of discernment who can view the trends in the world and detect those that, however popular, are shallow or dangerous.” (A Plea to My Sisters, Oct. 2018)
Throughout history, women have had only a limited role in society with restricted opportunities. Even in this new era, this harsh reality somehow remains true, especially to those who have not obtained a higher education.

Though I have finished a degree in BA English and Public Administration in 2003, I believe in continuous education and that acquiring more skills will help me become a more delightful wife, mother and eventually strengthen others as I continue to serve in my capacity.
My Message to New Students:
Before you begin this class, I invite you to set goals on this new journey you are about to embark on. Think about your big “WHY” you are taking a big step to further your education. Before I started, I had the determination to pursue education for myself and my family, hoping for new and better opportunities to be unfolded as I learn new skills. In the middle of the semester, I felt overwhelmed with all the assignments and felt afraid I would not be able to finish the course. Going back to my big “WHY” always gives me strength and reasons to move forward. This is a unique and inspired program.
One thing you can do to be successful in this course is to set aside a morning devotional before you start studying your lessons and have time to reflect and review on the things you learned during the day before you retire to bed. Throughout the course, this quiet moments in the morning and in the evening helped me overcome feelings of inadequacy and stress. No other hindrances can stop you from moving forward to finish this course. As you do so, you will finish assignments on time, grow, develop, learn and essentially become something more than you were before.
