The Light Within Us


In our advocacy and work at Parola Santuwaryo in helping and  protecting families, we sometimes come against the evil plans of the perpetrators and every manipulation of the enemy over our lives. We learn that the only way to fight the darkness around us is to light a fire within us because the greatest battle is against the darkness within. As mortals, it is common for us to constantly consider and pray for physical protection. Recently, however, we have come to more fervently pray for spiritual safety - we pray for continual strength for our family to live true to our covenants. In reality, whether we live a long or a short life on this earth is perhaps relatively of little consequence in the eternities. What really matters is our character, reflected in how we live. The only way for us to fulfill our eternal purpose is to make covenants with the Lord and keep them. As we understand the deeper meaning of the atonement, we can also comprehend clearly that Jesus Christ fulfilled our Heavenly Father’s purposes by redeeming us from spiritual and physical death. He gives us strength to accomplish things that we would not be able to do on our own.

PS: We are keeping a history and valuable record of our thoughts, feelings, our family's manner of life, our faith and works to remind us of God's tender mercies and love to our family. This could also be a blessing to our future generations.

It’s already been nearly a month since Sister Padilla stepped into the mission field and time is flying! From the MTC to teaching, meeting people, and seeing miracles every week, she feels the Lord’s hand guiding her step by step.  One of the sweet highlights she shared was working during what they joyfully call their "miracle hours".  She and her trainer, Sister De Dios, would head out fully geared up with reflector straps and belts, glowing missionaries on a mission to find and teach. Elder Ammon Jarom Padilla, Philippines Cebu East Mission (June 2026- June 2028)

  Maayong buntag sa inyong tanan! What a week it has been! Even though he got sick for a little while, Elder Padilla shared that the Lord reminded him that His work does not stop. And neither does he! He kept moving forward, creating miracles, and helping others come closer to Christ . He has seen so many blessings this week. Hearts progressing, and the Spirit working in beautiful ways.    They gathered for a wonderful Family Home Evening combining interested friends and ward members! The support was so great that people didn’t even fit inside the house. He said some had to stay outside! Sacred Dwellings | The Sanctity of our Homes and the Role of Temples

Having recently moved to a new neighborhood and community closer to the Urdaneta Temple, we started the week on a positive note with a morning devotional. As a family, we studied Elder Gary E. Stevenson's conference talk years ago, entitled " Sacred Homes, Sacred Temples ." In his address, he emphasizes the importance of creating sacred spaces within our homes and the significance of temples in our lives. From his message, we can derive valuable lessons on the sanctity of our homes and the role of temples in our spiritual journey. Families are essential in Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness. We are part of a heavenly family and an earthly one. President Gordon B. Hinckley taught:  “God is the designer of the family. He intended that the greatest of happiness, the most satisfying aspects of life, the deepest joys should come in our associations together and our concerns one for another as fathers and mothers and children” Temple and family history work unites families. Husbands and wives, parents and children can be sealed through sacred temple ordinances.
